Music Notes Music

The music program at First Presbyterian Church of Natchitoches is a vibrant and exciting ministry. The choir performs anthems each Sunday that come from a library of various musical styles. Mr. Michael Rorex, Associate Professor of Voice at Northwestern State University is music director and organist. Guest musicians from Northwestern State play on a regular basis and enhance the service with rousing trumpet fanfares or lovely melodies on the violin or cello during the prelude or offertory. Come and worship with us! Be encouraged by incredible scripture based music performed by talented and blessed musicians each Sunday at 11:00.   Michael Rorek at the piano

    Family Supper Night Family Supper

Family Supper Logo

Family Supper night is every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM in Dugdale Hall. It is a potluck style event and everyone is asked to bring a dish. It is a great time of fellowship and friendship. We often host the NSU Demons Girls Basketball Team and it is a great opportunity to get to know the atheletes. Just as with God's table, all are welcome so come and join us!

NSU Columns College Connection

Our Campus Ministry focuses on two areas at NSU: Creative and Performing Arts students and the Lady Demons Basketball team. Many members support the Lady Demons by regularly attending games. The team members are also regular invited guests at our monthly potluck suppers. We are patrons of both the NSU Symphony and Theatre Department. Three to four students receive monthly stipends to sing in our choir and others perform vocal and instrumental solos during services. Both student and faculty groups use our sanctuary to perform concerts and recitals. We regularly supply snacks for students during rehearsals at NSU and each year we prepare lunch for 80-100 students between Christmas Gala performances for school children. In addition, we send cards and “goody bags” to both NSU students and our own members who are in college in other states. All NSU and LSMSA students are invited to the monthly potlucks and First Sunday Lunch free of charge.

LSMSA Building - front

LSMSA is the Louisiana School for Math, Science and Art. It is a boarding school located on NSU campus. For many students, this is the first time that they have been away from home for an extended period of time. We offer a home away from home for these young individuals, a place where they can relax in safety away from the stress of academic life.
